Empowering YOU to play an active role in your child's language and feeding development.
This book was originally written by Australian author Libby Gleeson and illustrated by Leila Rudge. The English title is "Mum goes to work". In 2015, this book was shortlisted for the Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year Awards, 3-5 years category. I didn't know about this until I was researching this book to list it on this online store! No wonder the speech therapists in me loves this book!
"A beautiful new edition of a groundbreaking book by award-winning author Libby Gleeson, this is a heart-warming look at the busy days of working mums and their pre-schoolers. It's early morning and everyone is arriving at the noisy childcare centre. Mum is going to work - "Bye, Mum!" But what do mums do all day at work? And are the children as busy as their mummys? With adorable artwork from illustrator Leila Rudge, this is a fun and reasurring read for working mothers to share with their little ones."
Jackie's take:
For younger children, this book is great for talking about various action words and occupations. For older children, you can go one level deeper by studying the illustrations. The text in the book did not spell out everything. Encouraging your child to guess what happened is a way to practice verbal reasoning skills and picture decoding, which are 2 out of 9 key skills I teach in the "How to be a Language-rich Parent for your 3-7yo" online course.

I love cooking with my daughter. She started out with me in the kitchen when she was just 9 months old. She is 4 this year and she is very familiar with all the tools that are available in Little Food Explorer kitchen sets. She loves to help out in the kitchen. The child-sized kitchen tools available for sale are what we used in our own homes too!
If your child is a picky eater, one of the best strategies to spark a curiosity about food is to involve your child in meal preparation.
Little Food Explorer is also Singapore's FIRST guided online course for parents of picky eaters. You can find out more here: https://two-way-street.wixsite.com/home/little-food-explorers
I hope that these tools sized for their little hands will ignite the passion for cooking in your child!
